Mendocino County, which is one of the most beautiful counties in all of California, has reportedly seen their best year of tourism ever. According to a report by the Ukiah Daily Journal, Mendocino County saw an increase in jobs and direct revenue from tourist spending in 2014.
A closer look at the numbers saw the following benefits from an increased year of tourism:
- 6,000 jobs up 4.2%
- Hotel room sales up 7%
- Transient Occupancy Tax raked in $3.8 billion
- Business Improvement District collected $677,000
Mendocino County spans along the North Coast of California and includes some of the state’s most cherished Redwood forests and premiere coastline. This county also has many wonderful tourist attractions like:
- Fort Bragg
- Mendocino Botanical Gardens
- The Lost Coast
- Point Cabrillo Light Station
- Point Arena
- Glass Beach
I visit Mendocino County at least once a year and I’m making plans to head back up there later this year. Check out some of my Mendocino adventures and beautiful photos (in the links above). Hopefully, they inspire you to make a trip up there.
