Registration still open for the 7th Annual Hook and Ladder Run

(Last Updated On: May 19, 2015)

If you are looking to support a great cause, and get some outdoor exercise in a beautiful California environment, then the Livermore’s 7th Annual Hook and Ladder Run is the perfect opportunity for you to accomplish both. This event benefits the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation, which is a non-profit group that supports various needs, most notably injured and fallen firefighters. According to Patch.com, there is still time to register and show your support.

The 7th Annual Hook and Ladder Run begins on the grounds of the Wente Vineyards and proceeds into the Sycamore Grove Park. It’s a wonderful landscape that’s suitable for families and young children.

The event has three options: 5K, 10K and the Kids 1mile Fun Run. All three runs take place on the morning of Sunday, June 7.

Both the 5K and 10K runs travel on a combination of paved roads and dirt roads. Strollers are allowed on the 5K run but not the 10K. Also, no dogs allowed on any of the runs.

There will be awards handed out to the top 3 places in each age group for both males and females. And special awards for overall finishes.

Registration for this event closes on May 29. However, there’s only room for 1,500 participants, which means that registration could end sooner.

Preregistration fees are as follows:

  • For the 5K – $40 per runner (ages 18 and over) and  $30 (ages 17 and under)
  • For the 10K – $45 per runner (ages 18 and over) and $35 (ages 17 & under)
  • Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run – $15 per kid (ages under 13)

If there’s still room left, there will be a chance for race-day registration.

Check-in for the event starts at 6:30am. The 5K and 10K runs will begin at 8am. The Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:30am.
